About Me

Just like many of you, I have struggled with my weight and body image my entire life.  As a young child, I remember being bombarded with messages about being beautiful and slim.  I tried countless diets during my teenage years in order to manage my weight.  Regardless of what the scale said, I never felt comfortable or confident in my own skin.  This intense focus on being thin eventually translated into an eating disorder.  While I received high quality care that arrested my disordered eating, there was little education and support provided on the nutrition side.

After graduating from college with a degree in Marketing, I spent nearly 20 years working in a demanding corporate environment.  Since my husband and I were both working full time and raising a family, this left little time for us to focus on food and cooking. As a result, we relied on packaged, processed and frozen foods to feed our family. Over time, I developed asthma, allergies and food sensitivities which were likely exacerbated by my poor diet and stress.  Ironically, I worked in sales and shopper research for a large food manufacturer, helping to sell the very foods that were challenging my own health.

I ultimately decided I needed to take some time off of work to focus on myself and my family. Priority one was improving our health and happiness. I realized that by taking small steps towards improving our nutrition (e.g. eating more fresh fruits and vegetables), our whole family started to look and feel better... physically and emotionally!  I began to see how wholesome foods can serve as the cornerstone of a healthy and happy lifestyle.  Over the course of several months, we incorporated more healthy habits into our lives that left us all feeling well and energized.  This inspired me to go back to school to become an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach.

I realized that I could make a difference by helping people like me feel better about themselves and the way they nourish their families. Sound like something that could help you? Click here to get in touch with me.

I live in the Seattle, WA area with my husband, kids and two dogs. We absolutely love the Pacific Northwest as the mild climate allows us the opportunity to be outside and active year-round. Outside of work, I like to spend time with my family and dogs, run and practice yoga.  I also LOVE to travel and enjoy exploring everything from international destinations to local day trips in the Puget Sound area.
